Dehydra Bench Food Waste Dewaterer

Commercial food waste dewatering station

Our stand-alone, self-cleaning Dehydra Bench Dewaterer can reduce food waste volume by up to 80% and its weight by 50% efficiently recovering the minimised, dewatered solids for collection and disposal.

The Bench has an open format to the underside, making it much easier for routine floor cleaning to be carried out. The wider surface of the Bench allows operators greater space to decant food waste bins or stack pots and plates without interfering with the manual handling of loading the hopper.

Our Dehydra food waste dewatering Bench unit offers a quick, simple, and safe way to minimise the high volume and weight of food waste.

The Bench is used by clients across the globe – in the hospitality, education, prison, marine and oil and gas sectors – and is ideal for sites which have higher volumes of food wastes, the need for regular deep cleans of the kitchen, or contaminated wastes that need to be inspected before processing.

This model is also available as a bespoke unit. We can construct made-to-measure waste processing stations that are left or right-handed, with the ability to incorporate corner units – featuring sink(s), rinsers, splashbacks, feed trough, and off DIN measurements (LWH).

How does the Bench food waste dewatering system work?

Operatives feed the food waste into the hopper – where it is ground into small particles by the food waste disposer (FWD).  The resulting material is then pumped from the FWD into the hydro-extractor – where an auger and 1.5mm-holed fine-mesh screen separate the liquid from the ground food waste.

This process ensures that all solids are captured effectively, leaving the excess liquids such as sauces, soups, and juices to be disposed of in the main sewer.

Once the food waste has been processed, the system automatically self-cleans the hydro-extractor screen, ensuring that no blockages occur, and the dewatering efficiency is maintained – minimising operator input.
