Tidy Planet chosen for global oil project in Middle East

A leading procurement provider has been selected to supply waste management equipment for a major oil and gas heavyweight – and it’s chosen Tidy Planet’s Rocket Composters to do the job.

With extensive experience within the oil, gas and renewables sectors, the procurement firm is committed to providing organisations with solutions that enhance both productivity and efficiency across all business operations.

The Singapore-based company – preferred suppliers of the oil and gas brand – approached Tidy Planet when in search of machinery that could successfully process the client’s half a tonne per day of food waste, from its oil field canteens, to compost at a new integrated waste management facility (IWMF) and divert it away from being landfilled.

This led to two of Tidy Planet’s A1200 Rocket Composters being commissioned for the large-scale project.

Commenting on the partnership, Tidy Planet’s sales manager, Huw Crampton, said: “The client knew exactly what they wanted from the investment and due to the A1200 model’s large size and processing capacity, it’s a natural fit for more remote deployments such as oil and gas sites.”

The IWMF will be used to process all food wastes from the workers at the multiple oil fields and will then be processed – along with clean, shredded wood waste – on site by the A1200 Composters. The resulting nutrient-rich compost will then be used in land remediation and overall soil improvement around the sites.

Huw continued: “It’s also been encouraging to hear about the employment and upskilling opportunities this project will bring to the locals – the company cares about community involvement and it’s amazing that our Composters are at the heart of this development drive.”

Director of the procurement contractor, added: “We knew that Tidy Planet’s equipment would be the most efficient option for our client, as they wanted to show best practice at the IWMF and close the waste loop themselves.”

This is Tidy Planet’s third oil and gas contract of the year – showing the increased demand within the oil and gas sector for autonomy within the waste management arena.
